Porque el verbo semánticamente expresa la acción, relación, estado y proceso que realiza el sujeto, que puede ser una persona, animal, objetivo o cualquier entidad que realice la acción del verbo. Es la parte más importante de una oración por lo que puede marcar la división del sujeto y el predicado. Eso hace que sea una palabra variable, que cuenta con su propia estructura y que admite morfemas flexivos de número como otros relativos al tiempo y al modo. <br />

Porque los verbos copulativos expresan acciones. Existen tres tipos de verbos copulativos más comunes son: ser, estar y parecer, sin embargo hay otros tipos de verbos que son copulativos como resultar, semejar, permanecer, seguir, yacer, volverse, hacerse, tomarse, ponerse, quedarse. Cuándo una oración se forma con estos tipos de verbos, el predicado es nominal y debe llevar un atributo, ya que por sí mismos estos verbos no tienen significado, es decir, no puede llevar complemento directo y tiene que llevar un complemento obligatorio llamado atributo que suele ser un sintagma nominal o adjetival, el cual sirve de conector entre el sujeto y el predicado.<br />
